This page was created as a guide to some of the splendid natural beauty of the site of Dwejra.  It started out as a passion for astronomical observations from this place, rapidly grew into a love of the site, and materialised into thousands of images collected over the years, some of which are being used here to illustrate all that is special about this site, from its world underwater to the treasure that is its night sky.

Before anything else, some primers when visiting:

1. Watch your steps.  This site hosts endemic plants and important fossils amongst other treasures.  Please avoid tramping on them! 
Once they’re gone, they’re gone forever.  Do your part to help in the conservation of this site’s beauty.

2. Be sensitive to the site of Dwejra (e.g. avoid making loud noises, running around on the site, etc.).

3. Dim your vehicle’s lights when visiting the site at night, and drive very slowly. Your car’s bright lights can disrupt some of the nocturnal wildlife at this site, as well as hamper observations of the night sky.

4. Children are to be supervised at all times.  Many areas can be hazardous.

5. Barbecuing is prohibited!

6. Dispose of your waste responsibly.  Do not litter the site!

Activities

Dwejra boasts some of Gozo’s best diving.  From the world-famous blue hole, to chimneys and coral gardens, it’s an underwater gem.

There are splendid walks to have in this part of Gozo, overlooking majestic cliffs, vistas of open sea and truly stunning sunsets.

Dwejra is a dark sky heritage area, and on a clear starry night you can have the most breathtaking view of the Milky Way on the Maltese islands.
